SPECIAL RULES
1. All entries in this department are subject to the General Rules of the Youth Expo of Harris County and Special Rules of the Junior Livestock Show.
2. All lambs must be validated at the time and place determined by the Vice Chairman of Livestock. (See Important Dates.)
3. Minimum Weight Limits are:
Medium Wool................................................... 100 pounds
Fine Wool Cross.............................................. 100 pounds
Fine Wool........................................................ 90 pounds
Southdown...................................................... 80 pounds
No maximum weight limit
4. Exhibitors must declare breed at weigh in. If a lamb is classified out of his declared breed, he will be placed in the Medium Wool and allowed to show according to the weight class. Light Weight Fine Wools and Southdowns will not be disqualified by weight. The Classifier’s decision is final. Top three placing lambs will be weighed in each class. Lambs weighing five (5) pounds greater than weights on weight cards will be disqualified.
5. WETHER OR EWE lambs may be shown.
6. All lambs must be slick shorn from knee and hock up prior to arrival.
7. Any lamb sold through a livestock show auction since the beginning of the feeding period will be ineligible to show.
8. If twenty (20) or more lambs are in any class, the class will be broken into another class.
9. Overall Grand and Reserve Champion Lambs will sell in the live auction. All remaining lambs will be put in sale order by the judge. The live auction sale lots will be filled according to the percentages indicated in Rule 8 of Junior Auction Sale Rules.
10. All exhibitors must compete for Live Auction Placing. Auction Placing by the judge will be final. No exhibitor will be allowed to withdraw or “pull out” of sale. Exhibitors attempting to circumvent this rule will be permanently banned from participating in future Youth Expo events.
11. Please note that a division will be created upon five (5) animals being classified into the division. If a division has fewer than five entries classified into that said division, then the division will be absorbed by the Medium Wool Division. Classes will not be broke until ten head are classified into a division.
Divisions will be Southdown, Fine Wool, Fine Wool Cross and Medium Wool.

Maximum weight limit is 270 pounds.
5. The top three placing swine will be re-weighed in class. Swine weighing 10 pounds greater than check-in weight will be disqualified.
6. Any swine sold through a livestock show auction since the beginning of the feeding period will be ineligible to show.

SPECIAL RULES

2. Participants entered in the Junior Breeding Beef Show will be limited to Harris County 4-H and FFA members.
3. Animals entered in the Junior Breeding Beef Show must be registered with the respective Breed Association in the exhibitor’s name before October 1, 2010.
4. Original registration papers must be presented at check in. Photocopies will be accepted for Scramble Heifers only (the copy must be stamped Scramble Heifer).
5. Heifers will be shown by the following Divisions:
A. American Breeds
B. English (or British) Breeds
C. European Breeds
6. Classes for each Division will be:
A. Class 1….January and after, 2010
B. Class 2….September through December, 2009
